Punjab Kings maintained their winning run in Tata IPL 2026  this time  re- writing  IPL history  by  pulling off  the highest-ever successful chase against the  Delhi Capitals.  On hot day in  Delhi at the Arun Jaitley stadium the crowd enjoyed the run feast.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss  DC posted a massive 264/2 in their 20 overs . K L Rahul played breathtaking innings of  152 not out ( 67 balls 16 fours , 9 sixes) , His fellow opener Pathum Nissanka was out early for 11 . Nitish Rana too came good after a while with a  fine 91 ( 44 balls 11 fours 2 sixes), David Miller not out 3

Punjab Kings Bowlers were sent on a leather hunt . Arshdeep Singh 1/49 ( 4 overs), Xavier Bartlett 1/69 ( 4 overs), Marco Jansen 0/45 ( 4 overs), Vijaykumar Vyshak 0/38 ( 3 overs), Yuzvendra Chahal 0/42 ( 4 overs), Marcus Stoinis 0/11 ( 1 over)

DC one thought with total of 264 had the match on their hands . But Punjab Kings unbeaten so far in the tournament had other ideas . It stunned DC with the counter- attacking reply to which DC had no answer .  Opener  Priyansh Arya was destructive with an explosive start 43 ( 17 balls , 2 fours, 5 sixes), fellow opener  in- form Prabhsimran Singh  smashed 76 ( 26 balls , 9 frours, 5 sixes). These two knocks rattled DC .

Cooper Connolly was out for 17 .  Nehal Wadhera 25 ( 15 balls , 3 fours, 1 six) . Punjab Skipper Shreyas Iyer   joined the party and blasted an unbetaen 71 ( 36 balls , 3 fours, 7 sixes), Shashank Singh not out 19 ( 10 balls , 2 fours 1 six)  as Punjab romped home in style with seven balls remaining scoring an astonishing 265/4 in 18. 5 overs)

Delhi Capitals  Bowling wilted  : Auqib Nabi 0/41 ( 2 overs), Mukesh Kumar 0/55 ( 3 overs), Axar Patel 1/44 ( 4 overs),  T Natarajan 0/54 ( 3.5 overs), Kuldeep Yadav 2/46 ( 4 overs), Vipraj Nigam 1/24 ( 2 overs)
