In a rain- hit shortened Tata IPl 2026 encounter in Guwahati , Rajasthan Royals blew away five-time winners Mumbai Indians by 27 runs to register their third win in the tournament . Earlier MI Skipper Hardik pandya won the toss in 11 over per side match and opted to field first .
RR openers did not waste any time and and intent was clear from the start . Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi tore aprt the famed M bowling . The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Deepak Chahar , Trent Boult were sent on a rare leather hunt . Vaibhav Sooryavanshi blasted 39 with two sixes of Bumrah that had the crowd roaring ( 14 balls , 1 four 5 sixes) and the opening standing of 80/1 in 5 overs with Jaiswal . Dhruv Jurel ( 2), RR Skipper Riyan Parag 20 ( 10 balls, 1 four 2 sixes). Shimron Hetmyer not out 6 .

Yashasvi Jaiswal batted right through the innings and was sensational at the top and the opening stand with Sooryavanshi took the game away from Mumbai Indians. . Jaiswal smashed a high quality knock 77 not ( 32 balls, 10 fours, 4 sixes) and enabled RR post a competitive 150/3 in 11 overs .

It would be a tough chase and MI soon found out . RR bowlers were spot on from the start . MI lost opners Ryan Rickelton 8, Rohit Sharma 5 , Suryakumar Yadav 6, Tilak Varma 14 . Top- order gone.
