#TATAIPL-2025-70: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Beat Lucknow Super Giants By 6 Wickets In A Record Chase

Royal Challengers Bengaluru pulled off a sensational six wicket wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in thrilling Tata IPL 2025 encounter in Lucknow . RCB hence set up a Qualifier 1 clash with Punjab Kings.

Earlier, Jitesh Sharma the stand-in RCB Skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first. LSG lost opener Matthew Breetzke early for just 14. Mitchell Marsh who has shone for the franchise this season played another fine knock 67 ( 37 balls, 4 fours, 5 sixes), Nicholas Pooran scored 13.

The highlight of the LSG innings was the unbeaten ton by much criticised Skipper Rishabh Pant. Pant finally scored a big one 118 ( 61 balls, 11 fours, 8 sixes), Abdual Samad not out 1 as LSG reached a formidable total of 227/3 in their 20 overs.

Chasing a big total , RCB needed a good quick start . RCB openers Virat Kohli and Philip Salt gave the start they wanted in power play . RC racing to 61/1 in 5.4 overs. Salt was the first to go for 30 ( 19 balls, 6 fours). Virat Kohli in terrific form made yet another fifty 54 ( 30 balls, 10 fours ) the chase was on.

Rajat Patidar was out for 14. In horror form this season Liam Livingstone out for 0. RCB lost wickets However,  Mayank Agarawal joined the arty with a crucial 41 not out ( 23 balls, 6 fours ) and along with Jitesh Sharma who played a blinder an unbeaten one  85 ( 33 balls, 8 fours, 6 sixes) saw that RCB romp home in style without losing any more wickets  as they reached  230/ 4 in 18. 4 overs. It was a record chase.

LSG bowlers would be dejected for sure a big score and a ton by Rishabh Pant went in vain. Akash Singh 1/ 40 ( 4 overs), Will ORourke was hammered 2/74 ( 4 overs), Digvesh Rathi 0/ 36 ( 4 overs), Shahbaz Ahmed 0/ 39 ( 3 overs), Avesh Khan 1/32 ( 3 overs), Ayush Badoni 0/9 ( 0.4)
