#TATAIPL-2025-36 : Rajasthan Royals Flounder In Chase Yet again , Lose To Lucknow Super Giants By 2 Runs

Lucknow Super Giants snatched victory from jaws of defeat as they beat Rajasthan Royals by mere 2 runs in  a thrilling Tata IPL 2025 encounter at Swai Man Singh Stadium , Jaipur.  Rajasthan once again floundered in the chase  for second  successive time in the final over.

Earlier, LSG Skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bat first . But LSG got off to shaky start with in- from Mitchell Marsh out for ( 4)  another in- from batsman Nicholas Pooran was out for 11. LSG 46/ 2 in 5. 2 overs.

Aiden Markram steadied the innings with yet another fine innings of 66 ( 45 balls , 5 fours, 3 sixes) . Markram was spot on with his shot selection. Ayush Badoni too showed maturity and played an important innings of 50 ( 34 balls , 5 fours, 1 six). LSG Skipper Rishabh Pant was out for just 3 .

Abdul Samad gave the side the perfect power finish with a blitz an unbeaten 30 ( 10 balls, 4 sixes) scoring 27 off Sandeep Sharma’s last over  that proved so much at the end .  David Miller was not out 7 as LSG gave some total for bowlers to defend 180/ 5 in their 20 overs.

RR Bowling : Jofra Archer 1/ 32 9 4 overs) , Maheesh Theekshana 0/ 32 ( 4 overs) , Sandeep Sharma 1/ 55 ( 4 overs) , Tushar Deshpande 1/ 26 ( 4 overs) , Wanindu Hasaranga 2/ 31 ( 4 overs)

In reply  , RR were on  top with openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and young debutant Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The duo put on 85 for the first wicket in 8. 4  overs . Suryavanshi was out for 34 ( 20 balls , 2 fours 3 sixes) . Nitish Rana  out for ( 8). Skipper Riyan Parag played some attacking shots  for his  39 ( 26 balls , 3 fours  2 sixes) . RR were in the hunt . But LSG hung on with wickets .

Jaiswal  departed after a fine 74 ( 52 balls, 5 fours , 4 sixes) . The pressure was now on Dhruv Jurel and  Shimron Hetmyer to see RR home. Against Delhi Capitals they could not score 9 runs in the final over by Mitchell Starc. The match went  to Super over and lost.

Here too RR needed 9 off the last over by Avesh Khan. RR fell two runs short yet again. Snatched defeat from  victory. It was RR’s fourth successive loss. Hetmyer ( 12), Dhruv Jurel not out 6 and Shubham Dubey not out 3 could not carry RR over the line. RR Finishing at  an agonising  178/ 5 in 20 overs.
