Tamil Nadu : Chief Minister M K Stalin Announces Over Rs 6 Lakh Crore Investment In Global Investors Meet
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has said the state has attracted over Rs 6 lakh crore investment during the Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2024 in Chennai.
Participating in the valedictory session of GIM-2024, Stalin said companies have committed a total investment of Rs 6,64,180 crore, which would create 14,54,712 direct and 12,35,945 indirect jobs.
“Out of the total investments, Rs 3,79,809 crore has been mobilised through the Department of Industries, Investment Promotions and Commerce, Rs 1,35,157 crore by the Energy Department, Rs 62,939 crore through the Housing and Urban Development Department, and Rs 22,130 crore through the Information Technology and Digital Services department.
Rs 63,573 crore has been generated by the MSME sector which provides an enabling support system to large industries. These investments are distributed all over the state and will ensure balanced regional development,” Stalin said.

The chief minister noted that they have set a target to make Tamil Nadu a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
Industrialist Anand Mahindra has said the quality of human resources and efficient bureaucracy in Tamil Nadu were the reasons behind the Mahindra Group setting up its research and development centre in the state.
Participating in a session on ‘Tamil Nadu as an Ideal Investment Destination’ on the sidelines of the two-day Global Investors’ Meet 2024 organised by the DMK Government, he said the quality of human capital always matters.
Mahindra, who did his schooling in Tamil Nadu, said education is literally worshipped in the state.
