A clinical India came out with a fine – all- round show to beat Afghanistan by 47 runs in a super 8 Group 1 encounter at Barbados.

This after  India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss  and opted to bat first . Skipper Rohit though  di not have  a good outing though out for 8  .  With low scores coming into the super 8 , Virat Kohli  managed a run a ball 24 .  Rishabh Pant played some extravagant shots in his quick 20 . Team wanted to stay bit more but that was not to be. Big innings continue to elude Shivam Dube   in Internationals out for 10. Ravindra Jadeja ( 7) . All – ronder Hardik Pandya chipped in valuable 32 ( 24 balls, 3 fours 2, sixes).

The Indian innings got the momentum thanks to the timely 53 by Suryakumar Yadav . SKY  was at his imperious best with his signature trademark shots  and his  knock coming in only 28 balls , 5 fours and 3 maximums. He was treat to watch in full flow .

Axar Patel chipped in with  ( 12 ) . Due to the efforts of SKY India reached a competitive total of 181/ 8 in their 20 overs .

For Afghanistan , Skipper Rashid Khan was the lone  battler with fine figures of 3/ 26 ( 4 overs) ,  Fazalhaq Farooqi gave good support with 3/ 33 ( 4 overs), Mohammad Nabi 0/ 24  ( 3 overs),  Naveen-ul-Haq 1/ 40  ( 4 overs) , Noor Ahmad 0/ 30 ( 3 overs) , Azmatullah Omarzai 0/ 23 ( 2 overs)

In the chase , Afghanistan batsmen collapsed against the Indian bowling attack .  Rahmanullah Gurbaz ( 11) , Hazratullah Zazai ( 2), Ibrahim Zadran ( 8), Gulbadin Naib ( 17) , Azmatullah Omarzai  ( 26) , Najibullah Zadran ( 19) . The big innings never came for the Afghans. Mohammad Nabi ( 14 ), Skipper Rashid Khan ( 2) , Noor Ahmad ( 12) , Naveen-ul-Haq ( 0)  and Fazalhaq Farooqi not out 4 . Afghanistan were bowled out for 134/ 10 in their 20 overs . India winning by 47 runs .

For India , the seamers were superb . Jasprit Bumrah  3/ 7 ( 4 overs) outstanding. Arshdeep Singh 3/ 36 ( 4 overs) , Axar Patel 1/ 15 ( 3 overs), Hardik Pandya 0/13 ( 2 overs)  , Kuldeep Yadav 2/ 32 ( 4 overs) , Ravindra Jadeja 1/ 20 ( 3 overs)
