Rising Sons is an evocative exploration of life in pre-independent India. Set in the small village of Kesarugattu, nestled somewhere in Karnataka, this deeply moving novel weaves together themes of caste, familial bonds, and the quest for independence.
At its core, this four-part saga is not just a story of one family—it is the story of a village tethered to the transformative era of India’s fight for freedom. Richly drawn characters, intricate relationships, and a vivid depiction of India’s social fabric make Rising Sons a must-read. It is a poignant meditation on the tensions between tradition and progress, personal ambition and collective struggle, and the sacrifices demanded by the pursuit of freedom.
