Deep Sidhu, who was arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the violence at the Red Fort on Republic Day, was taken to the iconic monument as part of the investigation in the case.

Before taking him to the Red Fort, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police also took Deep Sidhu to the route that they took to reach the Red Fort on January 26.

According to the Delhi Police, both Iqbal Singh and Deep Sidhu were shown the route that they took to reach Red Fort on Republic Day when the capital city had witnessed widespread violence during the farmers’ tractor rally.

Deep Sidhu was arrested on February 9 from the Karnal Bypass in Haryana. Later in the day, a city court sent him to seven-day police custody after police alleged that Deep Sidhu was one of the main instigators of the violent incidents at the Red Fort on January 26.

Delhi Police had earlier announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for any information that could help arrest Deep Sidhu and three others over the violence at the Red Fort on Republic Day.

Deep Sidhu’s arrest has been made by a team of Delhi Police’s Special Cell, said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).
