Pune Metro Line : Supriya Sule Says Prime Minister Narendra Modi Should Inaugurate Online, Same Project Inaugurated By Him Earlier Five Times

In a sharp jibe  NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should inaugurate the new phase of Pune Metro online as he has inaugurated the “same” project five times in the past.

Modi’s visit to Pune was cancelled owing to heavy rains.

“It is very unfortunate that we have missed PM Modi’s visit. It is Maharashtra’s culture to welcome a guest. I want to bring it to the PMO’s notice that it would be the sixth time the same Pune Metro project would have been inaugurated,” said the Lok Sabha MP from Baramati in Pune district, reported PTI .

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pune in Maharashtra on Thursday was cancelled due to the heavy rain situation in the city, officials said.

Modi was to flag off the Metro train line from District Court to Swargate in Pune and launch development projects of Rs 22,600 crore, ahead of the state assembly elections.

BJP sources confirmed that the PM’s visit to Pune was cancelled. The new date for his visit will be announced later.

After heavy rains on Wednesday evening, the SP College ground, the venue of PM Modi’s programme, had muddy pools.
