In his address to the nation on COVID- 19 crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a fervent appeal to all Indians to stay indoors as much as possible to avoid getting infected by coronavirus, saying the world has never seen a danger as grave as this. For a developing country like ours with a large population the growing challenge of Coronavirus is not a normal situation.

This crisis has engulfed the entire human race. For the past two months, we have been watching with concern the news about coronavirus spreading across the world. For the last few days, it looks like if we are safe from #coronavirus. This belief is not right. Hence, it is very important for every Indian to remain aware and alert.

He called for ‘Janata curfew’ on March 22 from 7 am-9 pm, saying no citizen, barring those in essential services, should get out of house.

For last 2 months, millions are working day&night in hospitals and airports those serving others by not taking care of themselves.

On Mar22,at 5’o clock,we should stand on our doorways, balconies,in our windows&keep clapping hands&ringing the bells for 5 mins to salute and encourage them.

“Even World War I and II did not affect as many countries as coronavirus has done,” Modi said in a national broadcast.

Asking people to sacrifice “some weeks of yours, some time of yours”, Modi said given that coronavirus has no cure yet, the only way to stay safe is to stay indoors. I request people above the age of 60 to not venture out of their homes for the next few weeks.

“I request all people in country to get out of house only when it is extremely necessary, try and do all work from home,” he said.

He asked the people not to go to the hospital unless totally essential and take advise from family doctor on phone.

To counter the economic fall- out the Government has decided to constitute COVID-19 Economic Response Task Force under Finance Minister. The task force will remain in regular touch with all stakeholders, take their feedback and make decisions accordingly.
