With 42 Lok Sabha seats and the state to vote in all seven phases starting April, 11, 2019 the battle between BJP and TMC promises to be bitter one .  Both parties have had bitter exchange of words on host of issues in the run- up to the Lok Sabha polls of 2019

The BJP is desperate to make in- roads in West Bengal and the party aims to win as many as 23 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Against an aspirational BJP, TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is determined to thwart BJP’s ambition . At a election rally ,he said that in every state, alliances have been formed to oust Modi; once he is voted out of power, all of us can work together to build a new India.

Launching a scathing attack on Modi, she says, “BJP doesn’t like West Bengal and Bengalis, that is why they have stopped the process of renaming the state to Bangla.”

She attacked the Congress in the same breath and says that it is because the Congress failed to put up a fight against the BJP, the saffron party grew from strength to strength
