#Liquor Policy : CBI Arrests Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia ; Kejriwal Says Whoever Speaks Against BJP Arrested
The CBI after 8 hours of grilling arrested Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with alleged corruption in the now-scrapped excise policy relating to the sale of alcohol, in a move that could plunge the national capital into a governance crisis and further widen the political rift between the AAP and the BJP-led Central government. The AAP had earlier predicted Sisodia’s arrest
As per PTI report, Sisodia’s arrest, one of the highest-profile actions against an opposition leader, comes after that of Satyendar Jain, Delhi’s the then health minister, in June last year. Both ministers have led what the Aam Aadmi Party describes as the successful transformation of Delhi’s education and health services, contributing to the party’s popularity and continued electoral success.
Not only Manish Ji, but whosoever speaks against them, they had them arrested. They don’t want anything to happen without their permission. This is not how democracy works. BJP wants to break the party (AAP): Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal
Those who are eating the money of LIC, those who ate banks’ money. Those who are being talked about widely in the nation must go to jail. AAP is not scared. We have come out of an anti-corruption movement, Punjab CM, Bhagwant Mann told ANI
Since past 1year, BJP could not show any evidence of corruption of even one rupee against him, this arrest was not related to any investigation…some excuse had to be made. When this matter will go to court, BJP will not be able to show proof of even one rupee: AAP leader Atishi
Reacting CBI move, Why did they assigned license to the blacklisted companies? Investigation agencies work on technicality they do not work on emotions, if 45 mobile phones were destroyed & attempt to erase proofs on phones was made, these agencies will act against them, BJP’s Sambit Patra told a media briefing as reported by ANI.
Patra Further stated, In last 1 year did Arvind Kejriwal or AAP member ever conducted a single press conference for explaining excise policy? We asked why did they withdrew their excise policy abruptly for which they always spoke in favour? They did not state even a single reason.
