#INDvSA-T20-WorldCup-2026-Super8 : David Miller, Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen Star In South Africa’s Thumping 76-Run Win Against Defending Champions India

South Africa produced a  clinical performance to thrash defending chamipons India by impressive 76 runs in the Super 8s encounter at Narendra Modi stadium , Ahmedabad.  This after  Proteas Skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and had no hesitation batting first

But , Aiden Markram’s choice to bat first appeared to backfire as they lost three quick wickets in the powerplay and were reeling with the total 20/3 in 3.4 overs .  Aiden Markram ( 4), Quinton de Kock ( 6) , Ryan Rickelton ( 7).

But The Proteas unfazed by the losses counter- attacked superbly with brilliant partnership between Dewald Brevis and experianced David Miller.  the duo silenced the huge crowd with fine 97 run- stand to put the  Protes back on track . Brevis  showed his power and match awareness and hit a fine 45 ( 29 balls , 3 fours, 3 sixes) .

David Miller on the other hand was  postive  from the start with fine strokes and power placements. And not to forget hitting the maximums with power  and utter disdain. Miller smashed a fine match- winning  63 ( 35 balls , 7 fours , 3 sixes) . Marco Jansen ( 2) and  Corbin Bosch were out cheaply for 2, 5 respectively. But it was the cool Tristan Stubbs who gave the perfect at the  end with a  blazing cameo and unbeaten one  44 ( 24 balls  1 four, 3 sixes ). Stubbs hit Hardik for huge maximums in the final over to finish the innings in style . The total  ending at 187/7 in their alloted 20 overs.

India bowling : Jasprit Bumrah was superb 3/15 ( 4 overs), Arshdeep Singh  2/28 ( 4 overs)  , Varun Chakaravarthy was expesnive and struggled 1/47 ( 4 overs), Washington Sundar 0/17 ( 2 overs) , Hardik Pandya 0/45 ( 4 overs) bolwed bad line  and length and got punished , Shivam Dube 1/32 ( 2 overs)

In reply , India lost in=from Ishan Kishan for ( 0). Abhishek Sharma finally opened his account with 15. Tilak Varma ( 1). India were rocked early . The target 188 looked daunting now. Proteas bolwers bowed with a plan and backed by energetic fielding .  Adding to India’s woes was Skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal for ( 18 ), Hardik Pandya ( 18 ) , Washinton Sundar ( in place of vice- captian Axar Patel raised a few questions) 11. Shivam Dube battled hard with his 42 ( 37 balls 1 four, 3 sixes), Rinku Singh flopped ( 0) . India chase were in tatters . Arshdeep Singh ( 1), Jasprit Bumrah ( 0), Varun Chakaravarthy not out ( 0). India bolwed out for 111/10 in 18.5 overs.  South Africa winning by 76 runs.

South Africa Bowling :  Aiden Markram 1/ 5 ( 1 over) ,  Marco Jansen 4/22 ( 3.5 overs ) broke India’s batting. Kagiso Rabada 0/32 ( 4 overs), Lungi Ngidi 0/15 ( 4 overs) bolwed many dots balls to frustrate India .  Keshav Maharaj 3/24 ( 3 overs) impressed on a  pitch where India spinner Varun  flopped . Corbin Bosch 2/12 ( 3 overs). All Proteas Proteas bolwers stood up when it mattered most.
