#India-WestIndies3rdODI : Skipper Shai Hope Smashes A Brilliant 162 Not Out To Power West Indies To Stunning 5-Wicket Win Over India

West Indies produced a superb batting display to stun India by five wickets in the third ODI at New Chandigarh . A venue which saw yet another run feast. Earlier India Skipper Shubman  Gill won the toss and opted to bat first.

India were jolted early with Skipper Shubman Gill out for 1 and soon Virat Kohli followed out for 0 . India reeling at 4/2 in 2.4 overs.  Ruturaj Gaikwad along wioth Rohit Sharma put India back on track forging partnership . Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a fine  57 ( 69 balls 1 four, 4 sixes). Rohit  in fine touch looked set for his 36th ODI ton but fell agonisingly short at  92 ( 85 balls , 10 fours 3 sixes) . Naman Dhir 30 , Nitish Kumar Reddy 9, debutant Anshul Kamboj 17 .

Fortunately for India  Kl Rahul rose to the ocassion and smashed a breathtaking unbeaten ton to help India reach a  big total of 351/7 in their 50 overs. K L Rahul was imperious and played strokes all around the wicket and reamined unbeaten with 129 ( 87 balls, 11 frours , 6 sixes) , Gurnoor Brar was the other not out batsman on 8 .

West Indies Bowling : Jayden Seales 3/62 ( 10 Overs), Matthew Forde 0/26 ( 6 overs) , Alzarri Joseph 0/70 ( 10 overs), Keemo Paul 2/71 ( 9 overs) , Gudakesh Motie 1/67 ( 10 overs), Vitel Lawes 0/54 ( 5 overs)

In reply to India’s 352 ,  West Indies lost previous match centurion John Campbell early for 10 . Amir Jangoo put the West Indies back with a fine innings of 67 ( 56 balls 5 fours, 1 six) , Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with 24 , Keemo Paul a quick 44 off 35 balls , Matthew Forde fell for 7 .

But West Indies chase and the victory  was achieved thanks to the brilliant unbeaten hundred by Skipper Shai Hope . Hope combined with Amir Jangoo for a crucial 109-run stand to steady the innings . In the process  he registered the highest individual score by a West Indies batter in a successful ODI run chase.

As wickets fell around him Hope remained unfazed  and kept his cool and took the attack to the Indian bowlers and saw his team home by five wickets dashing India’s hopes of a clean sweep  . Hope  scored  162  not out ( 143 balls 17 fours 3 sixes) , Gudakesh Motie was the other batsman not out on 19 . West Indies  reaching 352/5 in 48. 2 overs.

India Bowling :  Mohammed Siraj 1/52 ( 8 overs), Anshul Kamboj 0/82 ( 9 overs) , Gurnoor Brar 1/64 ( 9.1 ), Kuldeep Yadav 1/62 ( 10 overs), Nitish Kumar Reddy 0/50 ( 6.5 overs) , Naman Dhir 1/33 ( 5.2 overs)

Though India won the series series 2-1. The bowling and the fielding was were below  par  . Tht will worry team India going into the World Cup 2027 ..
