India Fondly Remembers Youngest Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, On His 74th Birth Anniversary
India fondly remembered the youngest Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 74th birth anniversary. His son Congress president Rahul Gandhi, , wife, former party president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi along with daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra paid floral tributes at Vir Bhumi.
Former President Pranab Mukherjee, former Vice – President Hamid Ansari, former prime Minister Dr Man mohan Singh also paid their rich tributes.
Rajiv Gandhi was Prime Minister of India from 1984 – 1989 . He took office at the age 0f 40, after the 1984 assassination of his mother, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Rajiv Gandhi assassinated on May 21 while campaigning at a election rally during the 1991 General Elections, by LTTE suicide bomber at Sriperumbudur , then Madras.
