# India Elections 2019 : Rajnath Singh Confident Of BJP’s Return To Power, Expects NDA To Get 2/3 Majority
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the BJP’s Lucknow candidate has expressed confidence that the BJP would return to power at the Centre and he would win He also clearly brushed aside any challenge from the mahagathbandhan in Uttar Pradesh. The voting of the fifth phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls is taking place today for 51 Lok Sabha seats.
Singh is seeking a second term form Lucknow and is up against Poonam Sinha, wife of former BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, now a Congress member, and a contestant from Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar.
He said the Mahagatbandhan is no challenge for the BJP. “I don’t want to comment on her (SP-BSP-RLD candidate Poonam Sinha), as I believe elections are not about individuals but about issues.”
