Attendances at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 have passed 125,000, continuing a record-breaking start to the event’s biggest tournament in history.

Over 125,000 fans have turned out across the United Kingdom (UK) to Catch the Spirit of the tournament which is also the highest-selling ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in history.

The milestone was reached as 4129 fans converged on Old Trafford Cricket Ground for the India vs Bangladesh match today.

This achievement also builds on the biggest-ever opening weekend at an ICC Women’s World Cup, when 44,844 fans attended the first three days of the tournament, and a sell-out crowd for India vs Pakistan set a new record for the highest attendance of a group stage match at any ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Record broadcast numbers and digital engagement have taken the tournament even further, making it accessible to fans around the world and elevating ICC women’s events to an entirely new level.

ICC Chief Executive, Sanjog Gupta, said: “Crossing 125,000 in-stadia attendees is a landmark moment, not just for this event, but for the women’s game as a whole. These crowds sit alongside record-breaking broadcast and digital figures, together marking an irreversible shift in the creative, commercial and cultural standing of ICC women’s events.

“The ICC’s commitment to women in sport goes far beyond this event: from the expansion of participating teams to increase in prize money, from grassroots participation programs to policies like the post-pregnancy return-to-play framework, the ICC is building an ecosystem which galvanises female participation in the sport at all levels.

“The 125,000 fans who have walked through the gates of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England & Wales are not just spectators, they are a powerful signal of our vision for the sport and proof of everything we believe women’s cricket can become.”

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Tournament Director, Beth Barrett-Wild said: “Welcoming over 125,000 fans to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup over 17 matchdays is a remarkable achievement. This is about more than ticket sales; it’s about taking women’s cricket firmly into the mainstream and encouraging new audiences to fall in love with the game forever.

“The enthusiasm we’ve seen so far reflects the incredible quality of the teams and players involved and the appetite for major women’s sporting events across England and Wales. We always knew this tournament was going to be game-changing, but to be here now, with our biggest blockbuster games still to come, is fantastic!”
