India’s leading destination representation firm, Red Dot Representations, recently partnered with FitsAir to bring the travel trade closer to Sri Lanka through an exclusive webinar underscoring the airline’s new direct connectivity between Ahmedabad and Colombo. The webinar also shed light on the innumerable travel and experience opportunities one can dive into in the island nation without spending time in layovers.

The webinar, held on 21st August 2026, introduced travel partners to the new Ahmedabad–Colombo route and showcased how the direct connection can make Sri Lanka more accessible for travellers from Gujarat. The session also provided insights into the destination’s large-scale tourism potential that attracts families, honeymooners, MICE, etc., for its spotless beaches, cultural attractions, wildlife, hospitality and local experiences.

During the webinar, the team also highlighted the range of experiences available to Indian travellers in Sri Lanka. From relaxing by the island’s tropical coastline and exploring its cultural heritage to discovering its wildlife and enjoying its hospitality and cuisine, the session presented Sri Lanka as a destination offering considerably more than a conventional beach holiday.

With FitsAir operating the Ahmedabad–Colombo service three times a week, travellers from Gujarat now have a more convenient direct option to reach Sri Lanka. The enhanced connectivity is expected to open up opportunities across leisure travel, experiential holidays, MICE and destination celebrations, while making the island a more accessible short-haul international destination for the Gujarat market.
