Budget 2019 : P Chidambaram Slams Government For Missing Fiscal Deficit Target , Takes A Dig At Demonetisation
The congress party has reacted to the interim budget presented by interim finance minister Piyush Goyal. Former finance minister P Chidambaram termed the union budget as an “account for votes” and not a “vote on account”. “It was not a Vote on Account.
It was not a Vote on Account. It was an Account for Votes.

It was an Account for Votes,” Chidambaram tweeted soon after the presentation of the Union Budget. He also thanked Finance Minister Piyush Goyal for “copying” the Congress declaration that the poor will have the first right to resources of the country.
The senior Congress leader claimed that the government had missed the fiscal deficit target, as warned by him earlier.
Thank you Interim FM for copying the Congress’ declaration that the poor have the first right to the resources of the country.

“Thank you Interim FM for copying the Congress’ declaration that the poor have the first right to the resources of the country. “As I had warned, Government misses Fiscal Deficit target for 2018-19. Another red flag rises: CAD is 2.5 percent,” Chidambaram said in a series of tweets while reacting to the Budget.
Chidambaram also in a tweet took a dig at demonetisation under Modi and said it is time for another round of demonetisation . This time let’s demonetise 100 rupee notes
The demonetisation year was the best year of growth (8.2%) under Mr Modi. So, let’s have another round of demonetisation.
This time let’s demonetise 100 rupee notes.

Congress president , Rahul Gandhi also tweeted his reaction to the budget
Dear NoMo,
5 years of your incompetence and arrogance has destroyed the lives of our farmers.
Giving them Rs. 17 a day is an insult to everything they stand and work for. #AakhriJumlaBudget
