Big Trouble: KCR Daughter And BRS Leader K Kavitha Arrested By ED In Delhi Liquor Policy Case ; KT Rama Rao Slams BJP For Abuse Of Power
The Enforcement Directorate arrested BRS leader and daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister KCR , K Kavitha in Hyderabad and brought her to Delhi for questioning in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the Delhi excise policy scam case, agency sources said.
Agency officials raided the premises of the leader in Hyderabad Friday morning and later arrested her. Sources said the BRS leader was arrested and is being taken to Delhi.
BRS leader and former Telangana minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy claimed that Kavitha was arrested and being taken to Delhi on a flight at 8.45 pm.
He alleged that the move was “pre-planned” and said they would protest against it.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao, former minister Harish Rao and a large number of party workers gathered at Kavitha’s residence and raised slogans.
Later , BRS working president KT Rama Rao Tweeted On X, “Abuse of power and institutional misuse to settle political scores is something that has become increasingly common with BJP Govt in last 10 years. ED needs to answer Supreme Court on the inordinate rush to arrest when the matter is very much sub-judice & up for review in a couple of days, on the 19th March. What’s even more appalling is the ED undermining its own undertaking given to the Supreme Court. Justice shall prevail and we will continue to fight legally.”
