Battle For Telangana 2018 : Acid Test For K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Early Election Gamble

The battle in Telangana it’s first poll after formation in 2014 is set to be a triangular contest. And a big test for the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s gamble of holding early polls ahead of schedule. Will this gamble pay- off ? it remains to be seen. The December 7 voting will decided his fate.

The assembly polls in Telangana were originally scheduled to be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections next year, but the House was dissolved on September 6 as per a recommendation by the state cabinet.

The parties that are in the fray are – Telangana Rashtra Samiti the alliance between Congress-TDP – TJS (Telangana Jana Samiti ) – CPI and the BJP. They all will battle for the 119 member assembly.

KCR ( K Chandrashekhar Rao ) during elections rallies had expressed the confidence of winning 100 seats.

Over 2.80 crore electorate are eligible to exercise their franchise in the state, which has a total of 32,815 polling stations.
