As Protests In Iran Breaks Out After Admission Of Shooting Down Airliner,Trump Tweets Support For Iranian People

US President Donald Trump told the people of Iran that he stands by them and is monitoring protests that broke out after Tehran admitted it shot down an airliner, killing 176 people.

“To the brave, long-suffering people of Iran: I’ve stood with you since the beginning of my Presidency, and my Administration will continue to stand with you,” Trump tweeted.

“We are following your protests closely, and are inspired by your courage,” he added He tweeted the same message in Farsi as well.

 

Earlier in shocking admission , Iran said it had mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian plane killing all 176 aboard and voiced deep regret, after initially denying it brought down the aircraft in the tense aftermath of Iranian missile strikes on U.S. targets in Iraq.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran deeply regrets this disastrous mistake,” Iranian President Hassan Rouhani wrote on Twitter, promising those behind the incident would be prosecuted. “My thoughts and prayers go to all the mourning families.”
