External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said he held a “wide-ranging conversation” with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on bilateral cooperation, regional hotspots, global challenges and multilateral issues.
In a post on X on Monday (local time), he said, “A wide-ranging conversation this evening with FM Sergey Lavrov of Russia.””Discussed our bilateral cooperation, regional hotspots, global challenges and multilateral issues,” he added.

The conversation comes as External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said he handed over a personal message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russian President Vladimir Putin during their meeting at the Kremlin as part of his two-day official visit to the country.
In a post on X, the EAM said that he briefed the Russian leader on the outcome of the 27th India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC) meeting and discussed regional and global issues.
