He announced his move at a press conference after addressing a rally at his constituency Barmer. At the rally Singh apparently remarked that joining the BJP was big mistake on his part. Kamal ka phool, badi bhool, he said.

According to reports , Manvendra Singh ahs been miffed with the party ever since the party denied his father Jaswant Singh, a Lok Sabha ticket in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

There is buzz that he might join the Congress but Singh has  not made up his mind on it as yet.

The Congress is under state party chief Sachin Pilot and seasoned Ashok Gehlot hope to upset the present Vasundhara Raje government is the polls scheduled later this year.
