After Napolean France gets its youngest President -Emmanuel Macron
After defeating Marne Le Pen, France’s president -elect has promised to fight the divisions that undermine France.
According to ANI news report, Centrist Emmanuel Macron will become France’s youngest leader since Napoleon. Macron has been elected next French president with an estimated 65.8 % of the vote, while his rival, far-right Marine Le Pen, took 34.2%.
Macron has served for two years as economy minister and has “vowed to defend Europe.”
French President -elect Emmanuel Macron’s long walk to his victory rally was sountracked by EU anthem ‘Ode to Joy.’
“I know the country is divided and this has led to people voting for extremes,” Macron said in a speech at his team headquaters.
Macron supporters gathered and danced in front of the Louvre as they waited for his victory speech. Macron said, “Tonight, it is Europe and the world are looking at us,”
The handover of power takes place next weekend. The ceremony follows as Macron will go to the Elysee and be received in the courtyard by Hollande . After a brief chat, Holande will leave the presidential palace accompanied by the Republican Guard.
Macron will have to name his prime Minister around 15 May
